Balboa Island Museum

Offering visitors and residents a place to remember and enjoy the history of the Island. They are also now collecting memorabilia of all kinds, including photographs and stories.

Located at 502 S. Bayfront, Unit A (on the 2nd floor), right next to the ferry, on the Island.

Balboa Pavilion 400 Main St, Balboa

This is one of California's last surviving examples of the great waterfront recreational pavilions from the turn of the century. Built in 1905 by the Newport Bay Investment Company, it played a prominent role in the development of Newport Beach as a seaside recreation area. In 1906, it became the southern terminus for the Pacific Electric Railway connecting the beach with downtown Los Angeles. The railway's Red Cars connected the beach with Los Angeles in only one hour.

ExplorOcean

ExplorOcean is proud to introduce the nation’s premiere ocean literacy center. Our Center has been designed to educate our visitors to the essential principles of ocean literacy through exciting hands-on activities.

From mapping the ocean floor to manning an ROV, in the Ocean Literacy Center no one keeps their hands to themselves! So roll up your sleeves and dive in- an ocean of wonders awaits!

Balboa Island Ferry

Although Balboa Island is accessed by bridges from the mainland, why miss the opportunity to cross on the ferry! Balboa Island Ferry has provided continuous service between Balboa Island and Balboa Peninsula since 1919. This scenic crossing is about a quarter mile long, is open daily and carries automobiles, bicycles, pedestrians. Hours vary, payment is due once on aboard.

Balboa Fun Zone

The Balboa Fun Zone is one of Southern California's oldest and last great coastal amusement areas. Attractions include the old horse carousel built in 1938, a 14-foot trampoline, laser tag, arcade and boat tours. Located on the Balboa Peninsula of Newport Beach.
