Celebrate UCI - Annual Open House - Irvine
Saturday April 16, 2016

This spring event features an outdoor Festival, Open House and Car Show. Wayzgoose, UCI's oldest tradition, is a student run festival in Aldrich Park - filled with live entertainment, food, games and rides for UCI and the community. Many offices and services will be open or available with information for everyone especially prospective students. This includes academic program information and sessions; campus, housing and recreation facilities tours; Financial Aid and Admissions; and much more.

Irvine Park Railroad California History Education Program Family Day
Saturday, April 23, 2016

Both children and adults can take a trip back in time with Irvine Park Railroad’s 2016 Fourth Grade California History Education Program on family day. This fun program – created by teachers, for teachers - is a hands-on learning experience and meets the State of California curriculum requirements for fourth grade history/social science (for field trip attendees during the week).

Each session will last for two hours. The cost for this program is $14.00 per person. Reservations must be made in advance by calling Irvine Park Railroad at (714) 997-3968.

Pumpkin Patch School Field Trip and Tours

Irvine Park Railroad – located inside of beautiful and historic Irvine Regional Park - offers Pumpkin Patch school and group tours. You can choose a package that’s best suited for your class or group. Activities vary by package and can include a train ride, hay ride and moon bounce. Free activities include a hay maze, picture stands and child-friendly haunted house. All children who participate in this school field trip / tour will receive a free pumpkin and bottle of water. A minimum of 25 paid children per group is required for group pricing. Teachers are FREE. Schedule your school or group ahead of time and you can have access to a Party Pavilion in this great park at no additional cost to enjoy a sack lunch and other activities. Irvine Park Railroad is centrally-located in Orange County.

Once a month Pretend City offers Homeschool students unlimited access to our interactive exhibits offering learning through fun experiences. A trip to Pretend City offers your students a learning experience through hands-on “real life” educational play. These activities surround your students with challenging problems and absorbing questions. Additionally we offer two facilitated lessons per day for Homeschool students to participate in.

ExploreOcean Science Saturdays & Science Sundays - Balboa

Science Saturdays & Science Sundays ExplorOcean offers families a fun, interactive hands-on experience to connect to the 7 essential principles of ocean literacy through Science Saturdays at ExplorOcean and Science Sundays at the Back Bay. Quick and engaging activities bring parents and children together as they make predictions, ask questions, problem-solve and think like scientists. Each month we will introduce a new theme based on one of the Ocean Literacy Principles. Science Saturdays and Sundays are FREE and offered to children of all ages. The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel presents eco-adventures that inspire you with Southern California's unique ecosystems and connect your spirit to their larger global systems. Captain Dave's Dolphin & Whale Safari

Your guide, Coast Guard licensed Captain Dave Anderson, is a marine naturalist. He'll teach you about Dana Point, the whales who visit and the many dolphin who live here, as well as introduce you to a few of our other local marine friends like our California Sea Lions, brown pelicans and the flock of seagulls that come when Captain Dave whistles!

Cool Critters & Animal Presentations

A professional performance that is both fun and educational for children of all ages, Cool Critters is a traveling reptile and exotic insect zoo for birthday parties, corporate events and classrooms. Heritage Museum of Orange County

Heritage Museum offers an exciting line-up of educational field trip programs. Programs offered include a hands-on tour of the historic 1898 Kellogg house where students learn what life was like in the 1890s by playing with vintage toys, doing laundry, making butter, dressing up in Victorian costumes, and participating in other activities. Other programs included are 'Great Grandpa's House' for the youngest students, 'First Californians' & 'Gold Rush'.

Pacific Marine Mammal Center

A non-profit, volunteer organization and education center. They rescue, rehabilitate, and release sick and injured seals and sea lions. Programs include a guided tour of the animal care facility and exhibit room, a slide presentation and observation of the animals. The also offer a range of educational programs for groups of all ages.

Join us for story-time, songs and play as we discover the wonders of the sea! Our interactive early childhood program (ages 3-5) includes crafts, a touch tank tour, hands-on activities and much more! Each story time has a unique marine theme for children to discover.

siblings under 18 months are free

Join us for free infant parenting talks. Go beyond the basics, and understand your baby and this beautiful yet challenging time at a different level. Each month, we'll cover a different topic: how to set up your home for baby, how to support natural language development and movement, how dads can be optimally involved during pregnancy and the bonding period. Leave empowered to truly savor the first critical months with your baby, and to help her truly flourish.
