Incorporated
on December 28, 1971, the City of Irvine is one
of the nation's largest planned urban communities
encompassing more than 55 square miles.
With
it's population well over 200,00, it's no wonder
many have decided to call Irvine their home with
it's reputation as being one of the nation's safest
communities, it's vibrant business environment
and its unsurpassed educational system. Irvine's

several "villages", each of which were

Irvine
recently annexed the former El Toro Marine Corps
Air Station, most of which is planned to be converted
into the Orange County Great Park with construction
now under way.
The
city also prides itself on its parks, bicycle
trails and recreational programs for children.
In
2008, BusinessWeek.com identified Irvine as one
of the nation’s best cities to live during a recession.
Because of Irvine’s diverse business industries
and strong higher education network, these criteria
are credited with helping Irvine rank high among
22 cities surveyed nationwide.
